Recorded Music Senior Capstone Projects

Every year, Recorded Music seniors complete their graduation process by creating a "capstone" project. Like a thesis, the Capstone is the culmination of the creative, technical and business skills students have acquired over the past four years. Each student is expected to create a customized, entrepreneurial music business venture. Then, in front of a panel of distinguished music industry leaders, each student has five minutes to pitch his or her innovative idea. Each student must also supplement the pitch with documents that include a business plan, projected budget and an artist statement. Students then receive 10-15 minutes of constructive feedback from the panel of industry leaders, selected for their expertise in fields like record label operation, marketing, a&r, production, engineering, performance, music video production, and new media.
